The Prism Quality Teacher Program is designed to:
- Assist teachers to use the Program to identify, recognize and support their development as Quality Teachers
- Provide teachers with a Program, a framework and processes that assists them to reflect on the four Facets of the Quality Teacher
- Involve teachers in a Quality Teacher Inquiry process that help them identify, plan, demonstrate and document their learning and development as a Quality Teacher
- Provide teachers with processes and performance tools to produce evidence of their development as teachers in a Professional Learning Community
- Enable teachers to gather and document evidence of their professional development and to align this development with Professional Standards
The Prism Quality Teacher Program offers key Professional Performance Tools which can be used to assist in the process. They are:
- The Professional Performance Graph is a reflective tool which provides a picture of teachers’ current practice and capabilities in relation to the four Facets.
- The Professional Learning Plan is a planning tool which assists teachers in documenting current knowledge, setting goals and planning for further learning.
- The Specific Teacher Inquiry focuses on a particular aspect of the teacher’s professional learning.
- The Professional Learning Portfolio is a recording tool used to collate, document and present evidence of action taken in putting learning into practice. It provides evidence of active demonstrations of learning in practice.
- The Professional Standards Alignment is an evaluation tool that encourages reflection on practice and how evidence relates to the professional standards of teachers.
